Teacher guide Arranging as inspired by Lisa Cheney and Liszt Nuages Gris

TLF ID M024860

This set of resources focuses on arranging music. Students listen to and analyse Nuages Gris, a piano piece by Franz Liszt, as arranged for orchestra by Lisa Cheney, then create and perform their own arrangement. A video features conductor Richard Gill AO exploring extended techniques in music with musicians of the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra. Downloadable PDF resources include a Teacher Resource Booklet, the original score and the orchestral score as arranged by Lisa Cheney. There is also an audio recording of the original work performed by pianist Thomas Misson. The resources are part of a larger collection, The Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra in your classroom – Insights into the workings of music with Richard Gill AO.
