Actions included: implementing a research-based intervention strategy, the Extending Mathematical Understanding (EMU) program, developing specialist teachers within each school and professional development for numeracy teams including the principal, numeracy leader and Aboriginal teaching assistant (where relevant) from participating schools. The resource describes the positive results achieved, including increased student confidence in mathematics, and discusses the lessons learned. It also provides references and links to relevant readings.
