This is website about the significant contribution Aboriginal people made in colonial times by guiding European explorers and colonists, stock and goods across the Victorian river systems. The resource includes introductory information and 31 Story Objects in the format of videos, audio, images and text. Each object also has an informative caption. There are a number of interviews with people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage.   • This is a highly useful resource for the year 4 History curriculum. It is particularly relevant for the content descriptions that refer to the nature of contact between Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islanders Peoples and the Europeans, and the effects of these interactions. A number of Story Objects are highly relevant here including: Rick Nelson Interview Part 1 and Part 2, Uncle Bryon Powell Interview Part 1, Fear of Crossing and Great Rescues.
  • The resource is also highly relevant for the year 5 History curriculum. In particular the content description that refers to the nature of convict or colonial presence, including the factors that influenced patterns of development, aspects of the daily life of the inhabitants (including Aboriginal Peoples and Torres Strait Islander Peoples).   • The resource is also highly relevant for the Making a nation Depth study in the year 9 History curriculum.
