• The resource is of significant value in supporting the Geography curriculum for year 10, particularly for the content description in Geographies of human wellbeing referring to the role of international and national government and non-government organisations; initiatives in improving human wellbeing in Australia and other countries. The resource provides a section on Australian aid and development which explains the three types of international aid and outlines the types of aid and development work carried out by non-government organisations (NGOs). It includes a graph showing the top 10 recipients of AusAID funding in 2012-2013 and a table showing NGO community donations to Indonesia from 2005 to 2011. The resource provides a good introduction to the interconnections between Australia and Indonesia. The resource supports the Sustainability cross-curriculum priority, particularly the organising idea about sustainable patterns of living relying on the interdependence of healthy social, economic and ecological systems. It is also relevant to the Asia and Australias engagement with Asia cross-curriculum priority, particularly the organising idea that Australians play a significant role in social, cultural, political and economic developments in the Asia region.
