This resource is a unit of work about disability awareness with a focus on the concept of inclusion. It includes an introductory page for teachers and five lesson plans. Educational value
  • This is a very useful resource for the Foundation Health and Physical Education curriculum. It is particularly relevant for the content descriptions referring to: idenifying and describing emotional responses; and practicing personal and social skills to interact and include others. Lessons one and five are particularly relevant for identifying feelings and emotions. Lessons three and five provide learning opportunities that consider other peoples feelings and enable learners to practice personal and social skills for interaction and inclusion.
  • The resource is also useful for concepts in the General capabilities area of the Foundation curriculum, in particular the self-awareness and social awareness elements within the Personal and social capability and the Ethical understanding capability. Lesson one is particularly relevant for self-awareness. Lesson five is useful for social awareness.
