Learning objects Macrobiotica – science @ the lakes

In this resource students work as scientists while exploring their local environment in the real world of scientific endeavour. Games and animations are used to model the real experience of investigating a freshwater lake. This version of the Macrobiotica resource has been modified for Internet use by removing Teaching and Learning Federation (TLF) content which was subject to licensing restrictions.

  • This excellent resource addresses the Australian Curriculum cross curriculum priority of Sustainability as well as personal and social capability and critical and creative thinking capability for science students in years 5-8. It deepens understanding about the ecological issues outlined in biological sciences of the science understanding of the Australian Curriculum for years 6 and 7 science students and living things in biological sciences for year 5. This resource addresses Science as a Human Endeavour for years 5-8 science students.
