Learning objects Aim to sustain: Help a habitat

Students will identify and explore ways in which human activity threatens animal habitats. The resource includes videos, SMART notebooks, worksheets and links to further interactive resources. Students have the opportunity to compose and present persuasive texts. The resource includes support notes for teachers and/or supervisors. One of the 'Aim to sustain' cross-curricular resources on learning for sustainability for years 5 to 8.

  • This resource addresses the Australian Curriculum cross curriculum priority, Sustainability for years 5 to 8 students studying Science and Technology, Science or a multidisciplinary unit. It also contains explicit activities to address the Australian Curriculum General Capability of literacy. This resource could be used independently of the other resources in Aim to Sustain, in which case, it is brief and focussed on sustainability issues associated with habitat destruction particularly related to human activities.
