ABS Stats (iOS App)

This is an app that provides ABS data at your fingertips. There are three sections to this app: Key Indicators (including economic indicators and population estimates), Census data (2011 information and facts related to people, families and dwellings) and Population (a population clock which displays the current population projection for Australia). This app is free for iOS devices, and requires a wi-fi connection to download.

  • This resource is of value to the teaching of Statistics and Probability in year 8. The resource is an engaging representation of different types of data collected through a variety of methods. It is also of value to the teaching of Geographical Inquiry and Skills in year 8, as students are able to select relevant data from secondary sources for use in their statistical investigations.
