Educational value
  • As Australia's eighth prime minister, Bruce took office in 1923 and was able to hold the Nationalist-Country Party coalition together for the life of his government until 1929. Some of his achievements include moving the federal parliament to Canberra, agreeing to a British naval defence arrangement in Singapore and notoriously being the first prime minister to lose his seat at an election.
