Things to think about

  1. 1.The Siberian tiger is threatened with extinction. In which countries do you think you would find Siberian tigers? What might be contributing to its decline in numbers?
  2. 2.How does the reporter describe the habitat of the Siberian tiger? What key reason does the reporter give for the tiger's drop in numbers in the wild? Do you think Siberian tigers will continue to exist in the wild during your lifetime?
  3. 3.Scientists in one country are taking action to try to ensure the survival of the Siberian tiger species. What is their rescue strategy? Make a list of things that might increase the success of this rescue strategy.
  4. 4.Find out more about Siberian tigers — their physical features, diet, reproduction, and natural range today and in the past. Research other tiger species and compare the conservation status and threats faced by the different tiger species around the world.
