A method section describes key teaching strategies including pedagogy based on a Reality-Abstraction-Mathematics-Reflection (RAMR) cycle which uses students' everyday lives, interests or local culture as a starting point for instruction. The outcomes described include improved student attendance, engagement, behaviour, and achievement in mathematics as well as increased classroom discussion. The resource also discusses the lessons learned, the next steps and the research underpinning the program.
