Long ago, Mparntwe country (Alice Springs) and the Arrernte people were guarded by Akngwelye, a thylacine (commonly known as the Tasmanian tiger). Today, people pass through Mparntwe, and the sites associated with Akngwelye and his puppies, without knowledge of its cultural significance. Aunty Doris Stuart Kngwarreye shares a Dreaming story of the Arrernte people from Mparntwe, while standing among these significant sites and the wildlife that calls them home.
