Learning objects A soldier's war: Gallipoli

This Stage 5 resource looks at the Gallipoli campaign through the eyes of soldiers, nurses and the media. Students examine their diaries and letters as well as considering the nature of the warfare and the tactics involved before producing a documentary of the campaign. The resource will support the introduction of the new syllabus and will dovetail with the World War I Centenary commemorative events and publications.

  • This resource addresses outcomes and content in the Board of Studies NSW Syllabus for the Australian Curriculum in History K-10. It provides an overview of content and examples of lesson activities that relate to Stage 5 - Depth Study 3: Australians at War: World Wars I and II (1914-1918, 1939-1945). The resource makes extensive use of primary source material.
