This program is of use for year 10 science students as an example of Science as a Human Endeavour and how understanding and the ability to study DNA from different species can impact on understanding of disease. An excellent resource for understanding the history of our understanding of malaria with the discovery in Malaysian Borneo of a new species of the pathogen it jumps the species barrier, spreading from monkeys to humans.
