This resource consists of 2 sets of automated illustrated slides with voice over presenting information about how the process of respiration changes the composition of gases present in inhaled and exhaled air. The second set demonstrates experiments to show that carbon dioxide and water vapour are exhaled.

  • This resource addresses Science Understanding in the area of biological science for year 8 science students. This resource could be used to clarify the relationship between respiration and breathing. Information is presented in a table, and methods to test for the presence of carbon dioxide and water so this resource could be used to develop Science Inquiry Skills from the Australian Curriculum.
