Educational details

Educational value
  • This is a valuable resource for the middle and upper primary and lower secondary geography curriculum. It is particularly relevant for the content descriptions about the importance and need to protect significant geomorphic landscapes and other environments. The information provided in the sections What this reserve protects and What we're doing on the property is useful here. The protected animals, plants and vegetation communities of each reserve are described, and the projects and work being done to ensure the reserve continues to be protected are also included.
  • This resource is also relevant for the year 5 content description referring to the influence of people, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, on the environmental characteristics of Australian places. The Cultural values section on the information pages for each of the reserves is particularly useful here as it describes some of the cultural significance and values of the reserve.
