Dataset Daily maximum temperature extremes graphs

TLF ID M012698

This resource is a Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) web page that provides graphs that show the percentage area of the selected state or territory and the percentage area of Australia that experienced extremely hot, cold or wet conditions on each day of the month selected. Graphs on this page are available for the previous seven years and are based on a percentile analysis calculated using all the daily observations of temperature or rainfall on record for each month, starting in 1911 for temperature and 1900 for rainfall. For minimum, maximum and mean temperature and for total rainfall, there are options to display extremes above the 97th percentile, above the 99th percentile or the highest on record. There are additional options to display extremes below the 1st percentile, below the 3rd percentile and the lowest on record for temperature. There is a section explaining how to read the graphs.
